Terms & Conditions

NLAD Infra · Last updated 5 September 2026

Written to be read once, by the management, on a phone. If any line here is unclear, write to support@nlad.in and we will explain it and then fix the wording. Privacy has its own page now, linked at the bottom, because it grew too long to live inside this one.

1. The most important thing on this page

NLAD Infra is a record keeper. It is not a certificate. We store and display the maintenance record your management enters. We do not inspect any equipment, do not attend any site, do not approve or supervise any work, and do not certify that anything is safe or compliant.

Nothing produced by this product — a tag page, an export, the audit pack — replaces a statutory licence, a lift inspection, a fire NOC, a pressure-test certificate or any government approval. Those come from the authorities and licensed agencies that issue them, exactly as they did before you bought this.

Every date and every detail in your register is entered by your own management or by a technician your management gave a link to. We do not check any of them against reality.

2. Who this agreement is with

It is between NLAD and the organisation that activated the kit — the society, school, company or building owner named on the register. The person who activates it confirms they are authorised by that organisation to do so.

3. What you get, and for how long

The starter is one tag for equipment plus the register’s own admin card at ₹1,499 + GST, including 12 months of service, counted from the day you activate — not from the day you buy — so a kit sitting in a cupboard costs you nothing. Further tags are ₹499 + GST each, bought once (₹399 + GST from the 6th tag on the register), and a tag is priced the same whatever machine it goes on.

After the first year the register renews at one yearly price for the whole building, by how many machines are set up on it: 1 to 4 machines, ₹1,199 + GST; 5 to 12 machines, ₹1,999 + GST; 13 to 25 machines, ₹2,999 + GST; more than 25, by quotation. A machine is a tag that has been set up and not retired; spare tags are not counted. The count is taken on the day the renewal is paid.

All prices are exclusive of GST and applicable taxes. Prices are set at NLAD’s discretion and may change — but never for a term you have already paid for. If a renewal price changes, you will be told the new figure before you pay, not after.

We email a GST tax invoice for every payment. It carries our GSTIN and the tax breakup, and it comes separately from the payment gateway’s own confirmation, which is a receipt and not a tax invoice. If one has not reached you within seven days, write to support@nlad.in with the payment reference and we will send it.

If a renewal lapses, we do not hold your records hostage. Your register becomes read-only: it stays readable, printable and exportable, and your public tag pages keep working, for at least ninety days (currently). What stops is adding or changing anything: technician links, new entries, edits and approvals. Pay the renewal at any point in that time and everything resumes; the new term runs for a full year from the day you pay. Renew before the term ends and the months you had left are kept.

After that period an unrenewed register is deleted — the records, bills and photographs go, and the tags become blank spares that can be set up again as a fresh register. We remind you at sixty and eighty-three days, to the management email on file if it has been confirmed, and the register itself shows the date the whole time. If no confirmed email is on file and nobody opens the register, no reminder reaches anyone — we would rather say that plainly than imply every management is told. The ninety days is a storage limit rather than a principle, and it may lengthen; it will not shorten without notice.

4. What we hold about people

Deliberately very little, because the less we hold the less there is to lose:

The organisation — its name, type, city and state. A management WhatsApp number, which activation requires. Kits are sold in sealed boxes through a marketplace, so nothing else connects a register to the people who hold it — this number is how we know whose record it is, and how we tell you before your term ends. Never marketing, never shown publicly, and you can change it whenever the management changes. A public contact number, only if you choose to put a contact button on your tag pages — that one is public, by your choice. A person in charge — a name and role such as Chairman or Facility Manager, shown on tag pages only if you tick the box, and removable at any time.

Technicians — the name and company a technician types when submitting work, and the photos they attach. Money entries — amounts, what they were for, who paid, and receipt images. These are never public.

One management email address, given when the register is set up. It exists for one job: if the PIN and the backup code are both lost, a reset link is sent there and nowhere else. We also use it to tell you before your term ends. It is never shown publicly, never sold, and never used for marketing. There are still no accounts and no passwords — access is by a 6-digit PIN that your management chooses when the register is set up.

5. Photographs, and the reading of them

Evidence photos are stored privately. They are visible only to whoever holds your admin PIN, through links that expire after an hour.

When you or a technician tap “read this photo”, that image is sent to Anthropic in the United States to be turned into draft form fields. This happens only when someone taps the button — never in the background, and never to a photo nobody asked us to read. The image is used for that request and is not kept by us for training. Everything it fills in is a draft that a human must check and the management must approve before it enters the register. If you would rather nothing left India, do not use the photo-reading buttons; every field can be typed.

6. Where your data lives

In Mumbai, on Supabase’s Indian region, with the website served by Netlify. Access to anything behind the PIN requires the PIN, checked on our server. Five wrong attempts lock that admin page for fifteen minutes; the public tag pages are unaffected and keep working.

The nightly backups are the exception: they are held outside India — the photographs in Europe, the rows with GitHub — and every one of them is encrypted before it leaves, with keys that stay with us. The privacy policy says why, and what those companies can and cannot read.

7. Your PIN is the key, and we cannot look it up

Your PIN is stored only as a one-way hash. Nobody at NLAD can read it, and we will never ask you for it. The kit arrives with a printed PIN that works once, to open the register; you choose your own during setup, and the printed one stops working then. Change it again if it has been seen by someone who should not have it.

If you lose the PIN, use the backup code you saved at setup. If you have lost both, we can issue new ones — but only after a notice has stood for seven days on your own public tag pages, where any resident or staff member scanning any tag will see it. That delay is the protection: it means somebody outside your management cannot quietly take over your register. It is not negotiable, and it is not a support failure.

8. Nothing is ever silently deleted

Individual entries are append-only. A wrong entry is voided with a reason and stays visible, struck through, with the date it was voided. Quietly removing one inconvenient record would make the whole register worthless to the auditor it exists for, so there is no way to do it.

You may delete the whole register from Settings. It needs the admin PIN and a confirmation you type by hand, and it shows you what will go — counted from your own register — before anything goes. Then it is permanent: every record, bill and photograph goes from the register at once, and there is no undo button for you or for us.

One thing to be clear about, because our privacy policy says it too: encrypted backups taken before you deleted still hold a sealed copy for a while. Nobody reads them, they cannot be searched, and we would only ever open one at your own written request — if you deleted by mistake and asked us in time.

The rows — every record, bill and date — are in nightly copies that expire on their own after 30 days. The photographs are in a separate offsite copy that is cleared by a person rather than automatically, because a mirror that deleted by itself would faithfully copy an accident as well as an instruction. Ask us and we will remove yours from it and confirm that we have.

Your tags survive, keeping the serial numbers printed on them, so the stickers already fixed to your equipment still work — they become blank spares. The year you have paid for is unchanged, and setting the register up again does not shorten it or start it over. What you cannot do is delete quietly, or delete a single entry.

If someone asks for their name to be removed — a technician, or a named person in charge — we replace the name with a note that it was removed on request, keeping the maintenance fact intact. Write to support@nlad.in.

9. What we ask of you

Enter honest records. Do not use the register to store anything that does not belong in a maintenance record — no identity documents, no medical details, no bank details. Do not upload anything unlawful. Give technician links only to technicians you actually engaged; each link is one-time, expires, and can be cancelled by you at any moment.

10. What we can and cannot promise

We will keep the service running and your records available, and we will tell you honestly when something has gone wrong. We cannot promise the service is never interrupted, and we cannot be responsible for a decision made because of what a register did or did not say — the register reports what your management entered.

Our liability is limited to what you paid for the current term. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

11. What this depends on, and where it stops working

NLAD Infra is one link in a chain, and it only works while the rest of the chain does. Said plainly, because finding this out on the day you need the record is worse than reading it now:

The tag is a printed sticker on a wall. It can be painted over, scratched, sun-faded, pressure-washed, torn off, or covered by a notice board. A tag that cannot be scanned cannot be read, and normal wear will eventually take one. Ask us for a replacement and we will send one — your record is not stored in the sticker, only pointed to by it, so a damaged tag never costs you a single entry.

It needs a working phone. A camera, a browser, and enough signal. Lift machine rooms and basements often have none, which is why the technician’s form saves what they type on their own phone and can be sent later, and why the dates also go into your own calendar where they work with no network at all.

It is built on other companies’ services. Hosting, the database, the phone network, the browser makers who deliver notifications, WhatsApp for forwarding links, and the service that reads photographs. If one of those is down, slow, changes its rules or withdraws a feature, the part of NLAD that depends on it stops working until it returns. We choose boring, replaceable suppliers for exactly this reason, and the things that matter most — your register, your exports, your tag pages — depend on the fewest of them.

So keep your export. Download the audit pack or the spreadsheets whenever the record matters to you. They are plain files that open anywhere and need nothing of ours to read, which is the point.

12. Ending it

Simply stop renewing; your records remain readable and exportable. Tell us and we will close the register, which stops new entries and revokes any outstanding technician links. Export your register first — the audit pack and the CSV files are yours to keep.

A kit returned unused through the marketplace is refunded by that marketplace under its own policy. If you activated the kit before returning it, tell us so we can close the register.

13. Complaints

Write to support@nlad.in with your Asset Serial Number. We aim to reply within three working days and to resolve or explain within thirty days. If you are not satisfied with the answer, say so in the same thread and it will be looked at again by someone else.

14. Changes, and the law

If we change these terms materially, the new version is dated at the top of this page and the change is described on your admin page. Continuing to use the register after that means you accept it. These terms are governed by Indian law.
